Project Summary
Robinson was chosen to perform as the millwright general contractor on a project for an American Food Processing company looking to expand and modernize their infrastructure.
The scope of the project (Project Alpha) was a multi-faceted endeavor, commencing with the unloading of over 2,500 pieces of process equipment from delivery trucks. Robinson’s team was tasked with storing this equipment in various inside and outside locations until it was time for installation. A crucial part of the project involved the installation of all 2,500+ pieces of process equipment across three floors of the facility’s new expansion. This equipment spanned the entire food processing continuum, from unloading raw materials to the freezing and delivery to packaging stages.
Furthermore, Robinson was responsible for the meticulous demolition of existing structures, including pipes and platforms, to pave the way for the installation of a larger and more efficient heat exchanger. Transporting, hoisting, and positioning this heat exchanger, followed by the reinstallation of the previously removed infrastructure, was a critical task.
Robinson deployed a dedicated team of more than 50 highly skilled employees to ensure the project’s success. The company self-performed all millwright work associated with installing the process equipment. Robinson proved to be a dependable partner by addressing layout conflicts, resolving constructability challenges, and demonstrating flexibility when encountering unforeseen issues. The project unfolded in a fast-paced environment, with Robinson’s team adeptly resolving any complications just days or even hours before scheduled equipment installation.
