Overall the team is doing well. I think [the superintendent] is the best I have ever worked with. He is holding down the fort and is giving Robinson a very solid showing on the site.

Project Summary

Robinson was chosen by the world’s largest food and beverage company to provide design and construction services for a new coffee creamer bottle filling line within their existing operational plant. The project was crucial for meeting the escalating consumer demand for the client’s products.

The centerpiece of this endeavor was the construction of a cutting-edge 15,000 square foot Filler Room, a specialized facility nestled within the food processing plant. This ambitious task entailed demolishing existing concrete slabs, making way for a state-of-the-art Insulated Metal Panel (IMP) enclosure with new slabs and underground drain piping. Moreover, we oversaw the installation of new electrical, fire protection, and HVAC systems, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. Comprehensive utility piping systems were implemented to accommodate the new filling equipment. Additionally, we integrated various structural steel components and performed substantial bar joist reinforcements, fortifying the facility’s structural integrity.

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
  • We facilitated the relocation of an existing rooftop Air Handling Unit (AHU) and the installation of a larger replacement unit, accomplished with precision using a helicopter. The heaviest piece, weighing approximately 16,000 pounds, made this operation especially challenging. Intensive planning was key to its successful execution.
  • Our project included the design and installation of liquid process and Clean-in-Place (CIP) piping made of stainless steel sanitary tubing, adhering to ASEPTIC standard guidelines. This meticulous attention to detail ensured product quality and hygiene standards.
  • We undertook the design and installation of over 400 linear feet of structural steel conveyor mezzanine above existing equipment, particularly in areas inaccessible to standard hoisting equipment. Remarkably, this complex task was accomplished during the 10-day shutdown by an experienced team, and it was completed ahead of schedule without any complications.
