It has been a huge project compounded by an aggressive schedule. Thanks for the hard work and the relentless dedication to the project execution and especially to the eye everyone has had on safety! To me, the safety of the project considering the location of the project in the middle of the factory in current operation and the cooperation with the factory, should be one of our proudest accomplishments
Project Summary
Robinson was contracted to complete the construction of a new material handling facility for a long-term client at their cat litter processing plant in Virginia. The project included two multi-story structures, climate controlled control rooms, several large ground storage tanks, conveyors, screens, weighing equipment, and a minor amount of process piping. The buildings were conventional framed structural steel with standard metal siding panels and bar grating floors, each reaching heights exceeding 60 feet. Process utilities installed included water, compressed air, and natural gas. Additional sitework included a new detention pond, concrete paving, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and electrical duct bank.
Robinson was selected to provide general contracting services on a negotiated basis for the client, who Robinson has a long-standing relationship with. Robinson priced the project on both a self-perform basis, and solicited subcontractor pricing in order to involve local contractors and provide the best value for the client.
