Project Summary
Robinson was contracted by an Agribusiness & Food Ingredient Company to construct a new barge loadout system. The project requirements included demolition of the existing conveyor, structural components, and river tower, as well as the design and construction of a replacement system with increased capacity.
The new system utilized a hybrid conveyor with enclosed belt tail section and underground sections, transitioning to conventional belt structure above grade. Robinson also provided a new river cell tower and installed an owner-furnished barge loadout spout.
Robinson self-performed 90 percent of this project, to include inland demo, sheet piling, concrete, steel erection, conveyor installation, spouting, sampler system, and barge winch install. Design of the entire system was provided by Robinson, utilizing CDG Engineering as a design consultant.
